The official announcement of the title and publication date was made on June 14, 2001. The book, entitled The Shelters of Stone, was released in an unprecedented worldwide release on April 30th, 2002 - in 28 editions! You should be able to find at your local bookseller - or any online bookstore.

When will The Shelters of Stone be available outside the US?
The Shelters of Stone was released worldwide in 28 editions on April 30, 2002, along with the English version. See our ongoing list of translations and links on the main page at http://ecfans.com.
When will Book 6 be out?
It is way too early to even start guessing on that one!! Jean wrote a few chapters of book 6 while she was writing book 5 - to keep the storyline flowing. She also has revised her original outline just a bit, and knows the basic storyline, but still has alot of writing to do.
Once Jean turns in the final manuscript to the editor (as with Shelters of Stone) we'll hear something solid as far as a release date. Till then, relax, enjoy 'Shelters' and join in the fun on the AuelBoard with your fellow ECfans from around the globe!

How many more books will there be in the Earth's Children series?
On Jean's Shelters of Stone booksigning tour - and to the press, she has repeatedly answered this question with: "There will be at least one more book." Beyond that, she wasn't telling. In January 2005, I got this quote from Jean (via Kendall): "There will be more than six books before the series is finished."
What about all those rumors?
Same old rumors are circulating. Here's what I had posted before Shelters of Stone was published - STILL valid in 2008:

ps - The same 'old' rumors keep circulating - in many different countries. I wouldn't pay much attention to them!
